ANIMAL USE ETHICS COMMISSION (CEUA – UNIGRANRIO)

The Animal Use Ethics Commission (CEUA – Unigranrio) is a deliberative and advising agency of the Higher Administration of this University with normative and consulting duties, on questions about the use of animals for education and research purposes, attached to the Pro-Rectory of Graduate Studies and Research (PROPEP).

It’s goal is to meet and enforce, at Unigranrio and within the limits of its attributions, what is disposed in the Law n° 11.794 of October 8, 2008, on its regulatory Decree 6.899, July 15 2009, and on normative resolutions of the National Board of Animal Control and Experimentation (CONCEA/MCTIC), characterizing its activity as educational, of consulting, advisory and of inspection of ethical matters related to the preservation and protection of researchers and participants in the education and research activities involving animals.

In this sense, CEU-Unigranrio will make the analysis, issuance of results and expedition of certificates for the education and research protocols that involve the use of animals, seeking to meet the ethical principles established in the law in force.
